Awake Overnight Community Support Worker

**Specific Job Duties**

**Personal Care Duties**:
These include bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, administering medications and other aspects of personal hygiene (eg. teeth, nails, bowel care) as required. Individuals served are encouraged to participate to the degree that they are able, but it is the staff’s responsibility to ensure that all required care is provided in a safe, satisfactory and positive manner.

Assist individuals in attending medical, dental and hair appointments, clothes shopping etc. as necessary.

Adherence to protocols identified in the individual Care Plans/Health Care Plans. Additional training will be provided where deemed necessary by the employer.

**Household Duties**:
These duties include all general household duties related to the upkeep of a home to maintain appropriate standards of cleanliness and maintenance.

Duties include, but may not be limited to: meal preparation (cooking, baking); meal clean-up; laundry & ironing; vacuuming, mopping and sweeping floors; making beds; cleaning counter tops, appliances, sinks, walls, windows, mirrors, toilet bowls, bathtubs, mattresses, wheelchairs; taking out garbage/recycling; cleaning van exterior and interior, generally keeping grounds tidy and litter-free; ordering/purchasing commonly used household supplies (may include medications/medical supplies where designated by the manager).

**Job Skills and Abilities**:
Excellent interpersonal behaviour and communication skills (ability to communicate/interact effectively based on the needs of persons supported).
- Ability to work effectively with people with developmental disabilities
- Organization, time and general management skills
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently
- Transporting clients, a Class IV driver’s license is preferred.

**Requirements of the job**:

- Current First Aid (or willing to obtain)
- Class 5 Driver’s License (preferred)
- Clean Criminal Record Check (completed with the agency.)
- TB Test
- Must be 19 years or older
- Full COVID-19 Vaccination (unless unable to due to medical reasons)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Part-time hours: 16-40 per week

**Salary**: $21.63-$25.19 per hour
