**Job Description**:
The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for increasing awareness and connection to the Farm Boy brand and business through community support and engagement initiatives, such as local event sponsorships, sampling, hosting group tours and community contests. The performance of these duties must ensure a quality service approach to all team members, customers and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.

**Major Responsibilities**
- ** **Research, plan and create a customized community engagement plan for our Southern Ontario region based on a thorough understanding of Farm Boy’s unique community/customer base.
- Foster a first-class community engagement experience and provide continuous improvement initiatives and strategies that will help showcase the Farm Boy brand and products.
- Execute the community engagement plan and run programs such as sampling, sponsorships, promotions, events and donations at and around our Southern Ontario stores.
- Manage and coordinate the Farm Boy mascot appearances at events in the community and in-store.
- Collaborate with Home Office Marketing teams to plan and help execute community events and the overall marketing strategy.
- Provide mentorship, supervision and coaching to the Community Engagement team.
- Create and manage the community engagement/event annual budget.
- Engage various corporate stakeholders and build relationships with suppliers and retail leadership to help support the overall community engagement strategy.
- May be requested to perform other related duties on a periodic basis.

**Qualifications**:

- Typically requires completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in marketing or event planning plus 5+ years of experience in marketing (preferably with a focus on retail grocery), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A high level of creativity, attention to detail, and project management skills with a strong knowledge of marketing and event fundamentals.
- Passion for fresh food retailing and superior customer service.
- Ability to time-manage, set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communicator both written and verbal.
- Keen eye for detail with good follow-up practices.
- Well-developed computer skills, specifically in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Self-Motivated, adaptable, and decisive with a hands-on approach.
- Superior command of English language (both written and verbal).
- Flexible schedule, including availability during evenings and weekends.
- Flexible to travel with reliable transportation.
- Fluency in French shall be considered an asset.

**Work & Sensory Environment**:

- Sitting for long periods of time at workstations (e.g. while keyboarding).
- Lack of control over pace due to multiple and/or tight deadlines beyond one’s control.
- Exposure to eye strain from computer terminals.
- Standing for long periods of time at community and store events.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
