IT Helpdesk Specialist Full-time, 40 hours/week On-site and Remote **Salary**: $38k to $40k **Responsibilities**: - Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues - Research questions using available information resources - Advise user on appropriate action - Follow standard help desk procedures - Log all help desk interactions via the ticketing system - Administer help desk software, identifying and notifying IT management regarding stale or unassigned tickets. Assign tickets where possible - Follow up with users to ensure complete resolution of issues - Redirect problems to correct resource - Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention - Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions - Escalate technical problems with Local Area Networks and Wide Area networks and Servers - Inform management of recurring problems - Stay current with system information, changes, and updates - Maintain an inventory of spare computers, monitors, phones, cables, chargers, etc. - Identify any IT supplies and spare equipment needed to maintain an available inventory **Requirements**: - Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience in a first-level IT helpdesk support role - College or University degree in Computer Science or equivalent - Ability to communicate verbal and written information in a clear, friendly, detailed, and informative manner. - PC Hardware, printer, RF Gun experience, setup, configure, repair, debit machines - Experience providing support in Point of sales systems is a desired asset - Desktop Support experience with MS Windows 7, 8, 10 - User support for MS Office - Intermediate experience with Active Directory including GPO management - General knowledge and experience with network connectivity - switches, routers, etc. - Experience troubleshooting desktops, laptop, printers, network drives, etc. - Experience using a central management ticket solution with inventory and asset management - VOIP Knowledge is an asset - Team-oriented player. - Great on-time attendance record. - Strong work ethic.
