Baylink Networks has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our energetic, hardworking team We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter who wants to work in a collaborative team environment to support and grow our projects at Baylink Networks.

The successful applicant will plan, monitor and manage projects from initiation through completion. They will also lead and/or coordinate project planning, resourcing, staffing, supply and subcontract management, progress reporting, and change and people management. Furthermore, they will ensure project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost as well as monitor performance and recommend schedule changes, cost adjustments or resource additions.

Baylink Networks is a Canadian engineering construction company that specializes in marine fibre-optic cable. We are based in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia and we are rapidly growing Our mission is to connect rural communities to high-speed internet. Our current large-scale project is working on the coast of B.C., building landing sites in remote locations - check out the connectedcoast.ca website for more information. This work has the opportunity to visit sites across BC's coastline including Vancouver Island.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Leads, directs and coordinates the day-to-day management of the project(s).
- Schedules, forecasts and monitors project status to ensure deadlines will be met.
- Determines needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
- Manages budget and financial reporting, interprets and analyzes reports to ensure adherence to project budget.
- Provides leadership in risk evaluation, including contingency and critical path, contract negotiations, fee and pricing decisions.
- Develops and maintains up-to-date project plans (e.g. requirements, scope, schedule, cost, communication, resource, risk, issue, change management, quality, etc.)
- Manages and coordinates field operation and engineering processes and procedures.
- Obtains permits and licenses from appropriate authorities including utilities, municipal, Indigenous, federal authorities.
- Prepares detailed reports and/or presentations for clients and other stakeholders.
- Evaluates and keeps management informed on progress for project and budget through regularly scheduled operations update meetings.
- Promotes field and office safety culture and ensures project compliance with safety protocols.
- Collaborates, manages and communicates clearly and regularly with internal & external stakeholders from both technical and non-technical disciplines.
- Assists in business development, including technical assistance for proposals, to grow the business further.
- Leads in the development of high-performance teams through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring. Ensure regular feedback is shared with staff including timely completion of employee performance appraisals.
- Other tasks as agreed upon by the Director of Projects.
- University degree in Engineering or related degree.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Project Management, preferably within British Columbia.
- P.Eng. Designation and/or PMP certification an asset.
- Experience with project management principles and practices.
- Experience & knowledge of the Telecommunication Construction process.
- Excellent knowledge of the British Columbia an asset.
- Strong time management skills with a focus on delivering high-quality products on time and on schedule.
- Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and organizational skills, to balance and coordinate efforts across multiple, concurrent activities & teams, as well as build and maintain relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to perform all duties with mínimal supervision, with effective verbal and written communication.
- Problem solver with an undaunting ability to adapt to challenges and changes.
- Flexibility and willingness to work in a variety of capacities to get the job done, including office work, working from home, and field site visits.
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft 365 including Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word, and Excel.
- Must be fully vaccinated and provide a valid COVID-19 vaccination record.

**Who will you be working with?**
