**Overview**
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality care to animals. You will be responsible for assisting with various tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the well-being of our patients while contributing to a positive experience for pet owners.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist veterinarians and technician during examinations and procedures by restraining animals and preparing necessary equipment.
- Perform laboratory tasks such as collecting samples, running tests, and maintaining accurate records.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals in the clinic, reporting any changes to the veterinary staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including treatment areas, surgical suites, and waiting rooms.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ care and treatment plans.
- Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and processing invoices.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Our practice is open Monday to Thursday, meaning you will have a long weekend every weekend

**Qualifications**
- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Veterinary Assistant post-secondary education is an asset but not required.
- Strong interest in animal care and welfare is essential.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends or holidays as needed.
- Dependable. We are a small team and every one's role is important.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Pay: $15.50-$17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
