The Downtown Business Improvement Area is seeking an
Events and Communications Coordinator (Full-Time, temporary, up to 18 months)
The Downtown Business Improvement Area connects, promotes and supports Downtown Brockville.
**Reporting to the Executive Director you will be responsible for**:
- Planning, organizing and executing all events (including budgets, promotions, work plans, engaging volunteers, and sponsor relations)
- Preparing promotional materials for projects and events
- Acquiring sponsors for projects and events
- Overseeing various social media platforms
- Maintaining an organized office
- Recording and transcribing meeting minutes
- Maintaining up‐to‐date information using member data base systems and on our website
- Coordinating committee and task group meetings and minute‐taking
- Media relations, advertising campaigns, and member communications
- Other general administrative duties as assigned
- Must be highly organized and focused
- Have an interest and knowledge of the Downtown Brockville BIA
- Strong communication skills
- Positive attitude-good demeanor with variety of members, clients, suppliers, and staff
- Web savvy with basic knowledge of social media
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and all its programs
- Ability to balance many projects and events at one time
- Ability to utilize tact and diplomacy
- 2+ years relevant work experience (this can include professional and volunteer experience)
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle
**Salary**: $ 38,099/ year
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 18 months
