Smitty’s Fine Furniture is a third-generation family-owned local furniture store specializing in Canadian-made quality furniture. Our passion is exceptional customer experience in every aspect of our business. For nearly 75 years, Smitty’s has been a trusted name in home furnishings in Southern Ontario. We value our loyal customer base, as well as our deeply experienced staff, some of whom have been on our team for decades. Our original location was based in Hanover, Ontario, and we are currently operating from two showrooms: Hanover and Kitchener.
Our approach to the market with our primary line of business is by promoting and selling the top furniture and mattress brands manufactured in Canada. Over 80% of our product displayed on the floor is made in Canada. Our logo says it all“FOR THE LOVE OF CANADIAN FURNITURE. “
**About the Position**
The Showroom Manager supports the Company’s purpose to ensure that every customer who enters our store is given the best possible customer experience by fostering successful interactions with our customers, developing the sales team, and ensuring the presentation of product is visually pleasing and accessible. This role supports the sales team in all aspects of their role: in-store sales consultations and responding to all leads, training, customer service, and providing expert advice on furniture selections. The Showroom Manager is proficient with our point-of-sale system, implements store policies and promotes a positive operating environment for our team, customers and partners. The Showroom Manager develops our ties with our customers and community, supports our social media presence through in-store content generation while motivating and inspiring team members to build our brand.

**Your primary responsibilities will be** to: *
- Oversee leadership of all sales consultants and support team members in a manner consistent with the Company's values and culture
- Demonstrate commitment to valuing differences, developing, and coaching diverse teams, ensuring diverse perspectives are heard, encouraging everyone to have a voice and inviting opinions from all.
- Assist with building relationships with our clients by ensuring all customers in the store are attended to with a warm and informative experience.
- Develop strategies to attract new customers and retain our loyal customer base.
- Provide analysis of sales success rates and advise on product selection to contribute to an effective merchandising strategy.
- Maintain store appearance and ensure displays and product information of each vendor are showcased optimally.
- Maintain regular communication meetings with each team to ensure the efficient and timely flow of information
- Overseeing HR processes with respect to the sales and support team members, including onboarding, scheduling, paid-time-off requests, performance management, training, and ongoing feedback processes.
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment by enforcing health & safety policies, identifying and resolving safety concerns.
- Other duties as may be required
**Your** **Education, **Skills**, and Experience**:
- Degree or Diploma from a recognized university or college in Design, Sales, Retail Operations, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience progressing in sales leadership roles
- 5+ years in the home furnishings industry
- Demonstrated ability to learn new software programs
- Ability to use Microsoft products (Word, Excel, SharePoint etc.)
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
