Clinical Counsellor

We are seeking a dedicated **Canadian Certified Counsellor / Counselling Therapist**who is interested in working with children, teens, and families living with and caring for diabetes to join our team in a contract position.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide evidence-based, culturally responsive and trauma-informed counselling to populations you are specialized and interested in working with (e.g. children, teens, adults, couples, families, groups.
- Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress.
- Keep updated with the latest in best practices in mental health treatment.
- Integrate Jane app features (e.g. booking portal, clinically validated measures, entering tasks to work on outside of session). Training will be provided.
- Attend regular team meetings and case consultations to contribute to a collaborative work environment and strive for quality care.
- Work towards seeing approximately 20 clients a week in-person and virtually combined, including some weekend and evening sessions.

**Qualifications**:

- Clinical training in evidence-based approaches such as ACT, EMDR, EFT, ERP, etc.
- Experience providing individual therapy to children, teens and/or adults. Experience providing couples, family and/or group therapy is an asset.
- Certification with the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and/or Association of Counselling Therapists of Alberta (ACTA) and in good standing.
- Completed a Masters or Doctoral degree in Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology or School and Clinical Child Psychology.
- Completion of Breakthrough T1D's Diabetes + Mental Health training course is an asset, but not a requirement.
- Professional liability insurance, including cyber liability.
- _Lived experience with diabetes is considered an asset_, as it brings valuable insight and empathy to the role, but is not a requirement.
- Strong understanding and adherence to professional ethics.
- Excellent oral and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $90.00-$100.00 per hour
