Second or Third Year Truck

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform maintenance and repairs to the Transit Fleet
- Undertake road call diagnosis and repair
- Perform Preventative Maintenance on all vehicles
- Complete paperwork, e.g. individual time sheets, record of work performed, etc.
- Perform yard duty as instructed
- Perform on-road service calls and switch-off vehicles as required
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**: **Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) ** Registered first to fourth year apprentice through the College of Trades

- Two years minimum experience in the trade
- Experience with servicing or repairing heavy trucks or buses is preferred
- Additional automotive courses will be an asset
- Familiarity with computerized work orders will be an asset
- Must have a valid G Driver’s License; Ontario C Driver’s License with a “Z” endorsement is preferred. A clean driver’s license abstract is also required
- Must have green patch CSA approved safety boots
- Able to wear required personal protective equipment and use appropriate safety equipment to complete job tasks in a safe manner
- Able to work shifts and variable hours
- Able to handle physical demands of the job
- Able to work outside and in all weather conditions
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of the O.H. & S. Act and Regulations, including WHMIS, and the Ministry of Transportation Highway Traffic Act is preferred
- Ability and willingness to stay current with new technologies and equipment to perform bus repairs
- Must be able to work in a unionized environment on various shifts
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to diagnose and rectify faults
- Your own set of tools and toolbox
- Strong computer skills

**Salary**: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift

- Markham, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
