**Description**:
As a contracted member of the Information Systems team the Summer Student has many duties, including; maintaining the integrity of computer workstations and software, acting as a point of contact for employees who experience computer issues, and serving as a reference point for all IT related queries.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Install and configure hardware and software components
- Repair or replace damaged hardware
- Upgrade systems to enable compatible software
- Install and upgrade antivirus software
- Perform tests on new hardware and software
- Define software, hardware and network requirements
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
- Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, best practices, and procedures and relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Ability to work productively and efficiently on multiple high-priority tasks with light supervision
- Create and maintain pertinent documentation for area of responsibility
- Actively participate in Information Systems maintenance windows and after-hours support
- Other duties as assigned

**Skills, Knowledge and Expertise**:
**Education**
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or related field, preferred
- 0-2 years of experience in a similar role

**Experience**
- Five (5) years of experience in a medium to large automotive, manufacturing environment

**Working Conditions**:

- Usually work in an office, plant and lab environment, but the mission of the organization may sometimes take them to non-standard workplaces
- Standard work week, but additionally will often work evening, weekends, and overtime hours to accommodate activities
- As a member of the Information Services team you will be required to work off-hours and/or after-hours in support of our manufacturing operations
- Carrying a company provided smartphone is a requirement of this position
