Seaspan Marine Transportation is the largest and most diverse tug & barge company on Canada’s West Coast. Our services include Ship Docking, Tanker Escort & Emergency Towing and Tug & Barge Services. We also offer ship bunkering and ship building & repair through our affiliated companies. Seaspan Marine has over 30 tugboats and the most modern, powerful fleet on Canada’s West Coast. Our extensive fleet of over 100 specialty and general-purpose barges provide critical transportation for many of BC’s largest industries.

The Intern, Tug & Barge Maintenance, will work closely with our Maintenance and Engineering departments to optimize accessibility of existing asset technical documents, expand the functionality of a preventative maintenance program that facilitates lifecycle maintenance and survey planning for improved cost control, resource management and equipment reliability. This is a unique opportunity for a young professional that provides a deeper exposure to the marine industry and work with our marine technical department.

**Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at**10 Pemberton Avenue**, North Vancouver.**

**What you’ll do**
- Review drawings and technical files specific to Seaspan’s existing fleet of vessels under the guidance of our technical team and build out a data base.
- Integrate key documents from the data base into a companywide SharePoint site.
- Understand the capabilities of our maintenance system and identify gaps.
- Work with the maintenance & engineering team to implement improvements.
- Integrate new information into the maintenance plan.
- Create updated guidelines for the maintenance system, proper methods of system use and system functionality.

**What you’ll bring**
- Enrollment in a Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related degree program.
- Experience and/or knowledge in the Marine Industry is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and proficient with computers.
- Work well in a team environment as well as being disciplined to work independently.
- Understanding requirements and comfortable with regularly visiting vessels and different areas of our maintenance and shipyard facilities.

We require a full-time commitment Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $26.00/hour.

**Start Date of Internship: Monday, September 8**th**, 2025.**

**End Date of Internship: Friday, December 19**th**, 2025 (4-Months) or Friday, May 1**st**, 2026 (8-Months).**
