**Overview**
St. Francis Xavier University, located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, is a top-ranking Canadian primarily undergraduate university focused on academic excellence, innovation in teaching and research, service to society and international outreach. As we prepare to launch the largest campaign in our history, we are currently seeking a Campaign Manager to join our Advancement team and implement the campaign vision.
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Campaign Manager, is a member of the Advancement team and will be responsible for managing the processes, metrics and relationships that will lead to a successful campaign. With the VP Advancement, the Director of Fund Development and representatives from Marketing and Communications, the Campaign Manager will author a campaign operating plan that includes volunteer structures and recruitment, case statements, and cultivation and solicitation strategies to secure leadership and major gifts to the campaign and develop a strategy for the public phase of the campaign. This is an extraordinary opportunity that will require project management and collaboration across all levels of the University and the constituents it serves.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Work with the Vice President for University Advancement and the Director of Development to plan and implement the University’s campaign.
- Manage campaign budgets, donor stewardship, communications, and events. Partner with the Director of Development and internal stakeholders to implement campaign strategies, including identifying and recruiting volunteer leaders.
- Work with advancement services staff to oversee major and principal gift donor prospect pipeline and activity.
- Work with the President, campaign cabinet members and major gift officers in cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major and leadership gifts.
- Identify and implement key metrics to measure leadership-level gifts to the campaign.
- Effectively manage a campaign team consisting of major gift professionals, and stewardship and administrative support staff by establishing metrics and objectives for the team.
- Manage internal communications strategies to keep colleagues across campus informed of campaign progress and status and develop plans to engage and involve deans, faculty, and other university staff in the comprehensive campaign.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree, with a focus on communications, Business, Public Relations.
- Five to seven years relevant working experience.
- Fund raising/relationship development experience (Major Gifts and Annual Giving).
- Experience in responding to calls for proposals/identifying program funding opportunities.
- Advanced written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including political acumen is required to establish and maintain good working relationships.
- Ability to manage process, deadlines, personal targets and budget while adhering to the policies and procedures of the university.
- Advanced knowledge of fund development and related development phases (identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation).
- CFRE accreditation would be an asset.
