Dispatcher for Taxicab Service

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, experienced, and organized Dispatcher to be responsible for handling calls, dispatching trips, and completing administration tasks in a busy taxicab services call centre.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Use two-way radio, telephone and text to communicate with drivers.
- Montior all trips in dispatch software, assign drivers and ensure on-time service.
- Assist drivers when running behind schedule by re-assigning trips efficiently and appropriately.
- Properly document incident reports and direct them to the appropriate person in a timely manner.
- Answer customer inquiries.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with corporate clients.
- Assist drivers with emergency situations.

Qualifications:

- At least 3+ years of dispatch experience; preferably within passenger transportation or courier companies
- Knowledge of the road network across Toronto with an ability to learn new information.
- Ability to make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent knowledge of basic computer programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to learn customized dispatch programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task and act quickly.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to convince and influence
- Strong organizational skills with sound knowledge of general office and administrative practices
- Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment in high-pressure situations.
- Capable to work with mínimal supervision.
- Punctual and good attendance record.
- Ability to work in a flexible schedule that includes occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.

**Salary**: $17.00-$20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Night shift

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
