**Day Porter** **Domus Building Cleaning Ltd. **is looking for a qualified **Day Porter** for an immediate need at a location within **Ottawa Centre** that requires government clearance. Domus has been in operation for over 40 years with more than 500 employees in multiple provinces and has relationships with some of the largest real estate and government clients in the country. **Competitive Wage Rate Starting at: $16.65/ Hour** **MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: MUST **HAVE GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE "RELIABILITY" LEVEL. **Main Responsibilities**: **Exterior Cleaning**: - Perform one daily morning patrol of the exterior parking garage and pick up any trash and debris from ground and around vehicles. - Sweep all three sets of stairs and landings of parkade structure. - Sweep loose tickets around exit gate and around both pay stations. - Check all courtyard / garden areas for debris and garbage and dispose as necessary. - Water all plants in planters as well as hanging flower baskets on the - Sweep the front entrance and rear entrances of the building. - Patrol the parking ramp and pick up and dispose of any garbage. - Check and clean out all ashtrays at front and back of building. Sweep up and remove all cigarette butts from the ground and flower beds and planters. - Pick up litter and debris around the building entrance and grounds. - Patrol loading dock area and clean-up any garbage and debris. **Interior Cleaning** - Patrol the underground garage. Ensure all areas are clear of garbage and debris. - Vacuum (in winter), mop and sweep (in summer) main lobby area. - Clean entrance glass on the sides of the building. - Clean all glass including tenant doors in main lobbies. - Clean all glass stairwell exit doors. - Clean all ledges in lobby areas, especially on wooden accents. - Make sure lobbies are clean and remove any debris from lobby. Vacuum if necessary. - Wipe down all elevators. - Ensure that garbage room is tidy and clean. - Wipe down (or wash) all green recycling containers. - Sweep and vacuum all entrance areas from garage leading into the building. **Additional Tasks** - Perform monthly fire extinguisher inspection. - Respond to service calls requiring janitorial services dispatched. - Respond to service calls requiring light bulb replacements. - Assist Building Operator with projects or tasks as needed. **Preferred Qualifications**: - Must be reliable - Excellent attendance - Excellent attention to detail - Interpersonal skills - Organization skills - Being able to lift 20 pounds - Previous experience as a day porter considered an asset **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent **Salary**: From $16.65 per hour Schedule: - Day shift COVID-19 considerations: Mask Mandate in Effect : Mask must be worn on the premises.
