**Department**:Front Desk
**Principle Purpose of Job**: The Guest Service Associate represents, to the customer, the first impression of Saskatoon Inn & Conference Centre. As such, is responsible for ensuring 5 Star Customer Service Standards, while providing extensive knowledge of products and services offered.
**Organizational Structure**: The Guest Service Associate is responsible for working with the entire hotel to ensure customer satisfaction and a smooth operation of the Front Desk.
**Key Job Responsibilities**:
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Describe and sell accommodation and facilities, up-selling where possible.
- Organize rate and package information for quick reference.
- Quote rates and enter detailed and accurate reservations.
- Process credit cards in accordance with deposit/cancellation policies.
- Provide detailed information to queries received via internet.
- Process on-line reservations.
- Handle faxed reservations from guests, travel agencies, and volume booking agencies.
- Assist with group reservations.
- Track feedback to current hotel promotions/packages.
- Respond and resolve guest complaints regarding reservations.
- Check room availability at other hotels when hotel is fully booked.
- Liaise with Sales and Marketing and Front Desk to help coordinate group reservations.
- Maintain suite log control book.
- Process, check and verify travel agent’s commissions.
- Review no show report and process billings.
- Process, records and balances advance deposits, and prints deposit reports for Accounting.
- Provide information regarding room rates and special events
- Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining high standards
- Maintain constant communication levels with immediate supervisor
- Any other job duties assigned by the Front Office Manager or supervisor
**Hours of Work**: Monday - Friday (9.00 am - 5.30 pm)
**Qualifications**:
Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Ability to take initiative within guidelines.
- Attention to detail, order and cleanliness.
- Exceptional energy and professionalism.
- Possesses effective communication skills and exceptional phone manners.
- Ability to work with and understand financial information and basic arithmetic functions.
- Can type quickly and accurately.
Working knowledge in Microsoft Office/Word and Excel
- Ability to adapt in a fast paced constantly changing environment within a dynamic work schedule.
Has flexible schedule, able to work long hours, shift work, evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $13.50-$14.50 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Supplemental pay types:
- Commission pay
Work Location: One location
