Reporting to the Facilities Manager the Building Maintenance Associate is responsible for ensuring a clean, plant, grounds and office environment. By completed defined daily tasks, and identifying opportunities for improvement, the Building Maintenance Associate will execute various tasks to maintain the ALMAG facilities.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education/Experience**
- Minimum of grade 10 education is required
- Technical training or experience in fabrication, welding, carpentry would be considered a strong asset

**Technical Skills/Competence**
- Must be able to follow a defined set of tasks and see them through to completion
- Ability to problem solve various issues and define a suitable solution
- Willingness to do whatever it takes to support ALMAG’s success

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

The duties and responsibilities of the POSITION are detailed below, but not limited to the following:

- Maintain the shop floor by operating the floor scrubber on a regular basis
- Continuously maintain the floor scrubber
- Fix, replace and maintain non-manufacturing assets (Washroom fixtures, doors and entryways, safety equipment etc.)
- Assist with the movement and set-up of furniture throughout the ALMAG facility
- Assist the plant custodian where needed with the emptying of garbage’s and cleaning
- Maintain the external area of the facility by picking up garbage, clearing snow and other duties as needed
- Paint within the facility as needed
- Fabricate various fixtures and guards where needed
- Monitor, maintain and replace office and plant lighting
- Oversee and manage the roof conditions and drainage
- Conduct routine checks and maintenance of sprinkler systems and emergency exits
- Maintain fixtures and racking in the warehouse where needed
- Other duties as assigned
