**DESCRIPTION**
We are currently looking for a Health Information Compliance Manager to join the Patient Experience team at Circle Medical Technologies. As we continue to grow, we are constantly searching for exceptional talent to be a part of our team. This position is based out of our offices in Montreal, Canada. The Health Information Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing the medical records department, ensuring the accuracy, security, and accessibility of patient health information. This role involves managing the release of information processes, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and implementing efficient record-keeping systems.
**WHAT YOU’LL DO**:
- Manage and lead the medical records department, overseeing day-to-day operations and team performance.
- Evaluate and maintain policies related to the release of information, requests for Protected Health Information (PHI), and government and legal requests and subpoenas.
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and national laws and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to determine if changes to policies and procedures are required.
- Develop and implement efficient workflows, procedures, and operating principles to ensure optimal efficiency and high-quality patient experience.
- Oversee the proper implementation and maintenance of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure the integrity and security of medical records.
- Train team members on proper record-keeping procedures, privacy regulations and current best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of medical records processes across the organization.
**WHAT YOU’LL BRING**:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or 5 or more years of equivalent related management work experience.
- 2+ years of experience in leadership and/or operational and process management.
- 2+ years of experience in medical field or industry that involves record keeping and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare industry regulations and compliance standards, including HIPAA.
- Proficiency navigating electronic health record (EHR) systems and the Google Workspace suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven success in conflict resolution.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
