- **Role Overview**_

Reporting to Operations Supervisor - Work Centres, the Cutting Table Operator will be responsible for operating the cutting table to produce high-quality cut-outs while ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards. Additionally, they will perform routine maintenance to uphold operational efficiency and troubleshoot minor issues as they arise.

In this hourly role, you can expect to work up to 40 - 44 hours per week, with additional overtime and weekends as needed based on capacity. A typical shift will be 6:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, at our plant located at 150 Dynamic Dr, Scarborough, ON, M1V 5A5.
- **Highlights of What You Will Do **_

**Job Preparation**:

- Review the production schedule and coordinate with The Planning & Scheduling Operations Supervisor, to prepare materials for upcoming jobs
- Read work orders and scheduling lists information to ensure production is produce according to specification
- Work closely with Designers and Production Coordinators to understand job specifics
- Preflight - Review and upload cutting files
- Optimize workflow options.

**Table Operation**:

- Read and understand project cut specifications and interpret layouts
- Maintain cutting table uptime and ensure excellent cut quality and operational efficiency.
- Achieve and monitor cut consistency throughout production
- Perform quality checks according to established procedures to ensure high quality of production
- Send out sample 1st off cuts for production sign off
- Utilize ERP system to WIP and maintain inventory

**Post-Cut and Finishing**:

- Conduct quality control checks to ensure the final product meets quality standards
- Gather, organize, and wrap completed work for delivery to customers or the next department

**Table Maintenance**:

- Maintain and replace cutting blades
- Perform maintenance on schedule with the assistance of the Maintenance Technician
- Troubleshoot and perform minor adjustments and repairs

**Other**:

- Maintain quality and safety standards at the equipment and around the operating area
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds
- Troubleshoot problems that occur during job submission or the cutting process
- Inspect finished work for quality, accuracy, count, and sizes
- Keep work areas clean and organized
- Work overtime and weekends when necessary
- Assist the design department during down periods
- Perform trims, die-cuts, folds, laminations, pads, drills, collates, stitches, tape and kitting during slow periods
- _Perform other duties as assigned_
- **What You’ll Need to be Successful...**_
- Ability to set up and operate a digital cutting table such as Zund, Kongsberg or Gerber
- Working knowledge of materials, processes, and equipment
- Postgraduate in Print, Packaging, Industrial Design or Graphic Communication is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high cut quality standards
- Ability to troubleshoot table issues and perform minor repairs
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to multi task well, remain organized, and handle many projects at one time
- Mechanically inclined and production oriented
- Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs safely
- Ability to react quickly and make continuous adjustments to provide top quality products
- Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedure
