**Pharmacy Assistant/Clerk Summer job**

Centrum Pharmacy is a patient centered community pharmacy in Orleans. We are located in a medical center and collaborate with the clinics to provide the comprehensive patient focused care to our clients.

**Summer position for Full Time for 8 weeks. Part time during the school year thereafter.**

This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) wage subsidy program. Eligible student participants must**:

- HAVE BEEN REGISTERED AS FULL-TIME STUDENTS IN THE PREVIOUS ACADEMIC YEAR AND INTEND TO RETURN TO SCHOOL ON A FULL-TIME BASIS IN THE NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR;**
**- BE A CANADIAN CITIZEN, PERMANENT RESIDENT OR PERSON TO WHOM REFUGEE PROTECTION HAS BEEN CONFERRED UNDER THE IMMIGRATION AND REFUGEE PROTECTION ACT; AND,**
**- BE LEGALLY ENTITLED TO WORK IN CANADA IN ACCORDANCE WITH RELEVANT PROVINCIAL/TERRITORIAL LEGISLATION AND REGULATIONS.**

We are looking for an energetic, reliable student to join our team. We are a fast paced independent community pharmacy located next to a medical clinic.

Must have great customer service skills, be able to work in a supervised workplace and be able to maintain a neat and tidy work environment.

An interest in working in a healthcare setting and a good understanding of the sensitivities, professionalism and confidentiality involved in working in the medical field.

Ability to work cooperatively with staff, professionals, physicians and patients

The ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
General clerical and tidiness duties

Patient greeting and confirmation of accuracy of all pertinent prescription information prior to filling,

Handling customer prescription pick up,

Maintenance of pharmacy stock through inventory control systems,

Scanning and filing prescriptions

Assisting with cashier responsibilities as required in the Pharmacy

Data entry of patient care information into Kroll pharmacy software database,

**Assist Pharmacist with conducting Medication reviews.**

Must be willing to lift boxes, small items and furniture, organize storage locker and file room, carry and shelve merchandise inventory, tidy merchandise, stocks shelves, price merchandise and may assist in setting up displays and signs.

SKILLS:

- excellent organizational skills and detail orientation;
- strong communication skills;
- demonstrated customer service experience;
- strong motivation to succeed;
- proficient computer/data/entry skills with Kroll and Microsoft Office.

WORK HOURS:
Monday - Friday 8 hours/day

Interest in Pharmacy and Healthcare is valued

This position is ideal for students currently studying in a University or College Health Care education Program.

On the job training and supervision will be provided.

Pay: $16.75 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
