**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Credit Analyst is responsible for a portfolio of customers, including the extension of credit to customers in accordance with the company policy and the collection of trade accounts.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Be responsible to review new customer credit request for all business units and existing accounts indicating change in payment and or/buying terms;
- Monitor the credit status of existing accounts to ensure that proper credit limits are reviewed and adjusted;
- Prioritize and manage various tasks;
- Review ageing reports to determine status of collections and outstanding balances;
- Review and maintain relationship with EDC and with Dun and Bradstreet;
- Manage collection of accounts in accordance to either arrears or special agreements. Optimize processes around reporting and analysis of credit;
- Develop and keep regular contact with clients by phone or correspondence must be maintained. Utilize portals for payment status;
- Explore the reasons, propose solutions, and escalate when appropriate, when customers are not respecting deadlines;
- Identify delinquent accounts early in the receivable and ensuring the risks for bad debt is reduced;
- Take all efforts in collecting payment before assigning bad debt status to the account. Maintain and develop procedures as to minimize bad debts;
- Manage deductions of top customers;
- Act as a backup to colleagues, when required;
- Collaborate with internal departments regarding processes and controls relating to price lists, discounts and rebates;
- Utilize portals for reimbursements requests.
**QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**:
- Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)-Major in Accounting or College degree in Accounting combined with relevant experience;
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in a collection/receivables role;
- Experience in collaborating with business units relative to collection or deduction issues;
- Experience in working in high volume deduction environment;
- Bilingualism in order to communicate both with our francophone and anglophone sites (spoken and written);
- Accurate and detail-oriented;
- Effective communication skills;
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, team player;
- Investigative and negotiation skills;
- Ability to analyze financial statements;
- Ability to work under strict deadlines;
- Ability to maintain courtesy and tact;
- Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner.
