Position Summary
The Human Resources & Organizational Development Department is looking for a placement student to join the Recruitment & Selection Team. The placement student will have an opportunity to job shadow and support the various roles on the Recruitment & Selection Team including the Recruitment Advisor(s), HR Associate and the Supervisor, Recruitment & Selection, and will participate in special projects within the area.
Assist with various stages of the recruitment and onboarding process (i.e. advertising, selection, interview, offer and reference check stages);
Direct experience working within the City’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS);
Participation in career events;
Collaboration for communication/content revisions and assist in development of new collaboration practices (OneNote);
Support Summer Student employment program;
Research best practices and participating in the planning and development of key special projects.
Qualifications, Competencies
Currently enrolled in the third year of the Business Administration Human Resources Program;
**Must demonstrate corporate competencies**: Customer Focus, Results Orientation, Integrity, and Teamwork.
Skills, Abilities, Work Demands
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a demanding environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to work effectively, independently and as a team member;
Proficient skills in MS Office;
Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail;
Demonstrate integrity; adhere to professional standards, regulations and corporate policies and procedures (e.g. Code of Conduct);
Required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal record check.
