Business Job Title: Territory Key Account Manager - Appliance Channel
Job Summary: Reporting to Sales Director, the Key Account Manager - Appliances Division works closely with Regional Key Account Manager. The Key Account Manager utilizes consultative selling skills and experience to retain and grow established accounts as well as develop and close new business. This person is responsible for developing relationships with customers, executing training at store level, initiating promotional activities to increase sales of products, hosting product demonstrations at local stores, maximizing shelf space with our products, attending shows and industry events that helps grow sales and market share.
Job Responsibilities:
- Drives consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning, deployment, and management of resources and brands. This is done in a variety of ways, including frequent visits with retail customers to promote the sale of the appropriate Broan-Venmar-Best brand products.
- Meets or exceeds assigned objectives for sales, penetration, etc.
- Identifies opportunities and develops action plans to improve short
- and long-term sales and earnings growth.
- Develops and maintains a base of knowledge on all competitors and interacts with all Broan-Venmar-Best departments relative to this knowledge, as appropriate.
- Develops and conducts sales training and motivational meetings for our customers.
- Recommends pricing and other actions as may be needed to accomplish objectives.
- Shares new products and future product opportunities with customers to gauge interest and generate revenue early on.
- Works closely with Regional Key Account Manager to insure rapid communication and success of new product introductions and other promotional programs.
- Represents the company at select regional or national trade shows.
- Maintains records and submits reports as required by the Company, including but not limited to annual sales and expense budgets.
- Leverages the organizational resources appropriately to ensure that our customers’ needs are satisfied. Including but not limited to:
- Properly refers parties to appropriate company department and assists in resolution of service and warranty issues.
- Obtains credit information and provides such assistance to the Credit Department as may be required to ensure the timely processing of customer orders.
- Partners with internal rep & merchandising agencies to ensure all objectives are achieved.
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of successful sales experience, ideally in the retail building products industry.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or equivalent experience.
- Have and maintain a valid issued driver’s license.
- Demonstrated success in calling on retail customers and translating those relationships into sales.
- A strong work ethic, hunter mentality, love of sales, and the drive to get out in the field and support existing business and/or pursue new business daily.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to use a consultative sales approach.
- Superb interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Experience and proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Open mind to work with intern system.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel at least 25% of the time, including some overnight travel.
- Ability to establish a home office.
