Cannabis Cultivation Technician

This is an opportunity is based in Edmonton, Alberta and is curated for motivated individuals that believe in a team environment. The role of Cultivation Technician will be a part of the cultivation team and report to the Operations Manager and Master Grower on a daily basis ensuring a compliant, safe operation in all aspects of plant growth and day to day facility operations. The Cultivation Technician will be responsible for garden and facility maintenance and upkeep.

This is a full-time role.

**Job Summary**

**Specific Skills**:

- Follow all facility SOP’s as trained, including but not limited to, procedures involving production, processing, and destruction of cannabis.
- Working alongside the Master Grower you would be responsible for cultivation tasks including garden maintenance, sanitation, defoliation, trimming, pest management, cloning and transplanting

**Roles & Responsibilities**

Working closely with the Operations Manager and Quality Assurance Manager the role of the Cultivation Manager will be responsible for managing in all processes of facility cultivation including:

- Follow production schedules as specified by manager
- Maintain crop health of clones/ seedlings
- Monitor environmental inputs and record data entry
- Maintain sanitation procedures
- Assist with crop harvesting
- Assist with crop maintenance and support
- Assist in crop processing
- Consistent inventory management and compliant record keeping responsibilities
- Maintain company standards for cost control and waste reduction
- Display safe handling and use of chemicals
- Ensure compliance with legislative policies and company SOP’s
- Ability to solve problems and recommend opportunities to improve productivity and efficiencies
- Other duties deemed essential by management and operating procedures
- Ensure cleanliness at all times
- Strong work ethic alongside the promotion of a safe and happy workplace
- This role is physically demanding and requires the ability to climb ladders, lift items of 50lbs, and work in grow room environments around 30*C for long periods of time.

**Qualifications**:
**Required**
- Minimum one experience in commercial horticulture
- Competencies in Canada’s Cannabis Industry Policies (Cannabis Act)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in food and beverage considered an asset
- Must be precise and detail focused
- Must be mathematically skilled
- Read and write English
- Ability to pass security clearance background check
- Basic computer competencies
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, standing, bending for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work in temperature controlled rooms, with high energy lighting

**Preferred Assets**
- Ticketed in Integrated Pest Management systems
- Experience in food and beverage manufacturing considered an asset

**Skills/ Assets/ Abilities**
- Basic skills with hand tools
- Previous cultivation experience is an asset
- Computer literacies such as Microsoft Office and IMS

**Salary**: $15.00 to $18.00 /hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

- Overtime pay
