J2 is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic organization.

**JOB SUMMARY**

Reporting to the Production Operations Manager at the Orenda Coatings facility in Brampton, Ontario, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for reporting on daily issues and downtime to the Manager.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Works cooperatively in a team-oriented fashion to maintain, repair and fabricate machines, equipment, and devices
- Complies with all Company safety policies, procedures and rules
- Adheres to the Technical System Procedures and instructions
- Develops and maintains the Mechanical Preventative Maintenance program with management and production personnel and reports to management on the completion of the audits
- Maintains the inventory of spare parts and requests replacements be ordered when items are consumed
- Performs repairs in the plant and on plant equipment as assigned
- Performs Preventative Maintenance
- Operates lifting equipment such as Lift Truck, Crane, and Chain Hoist, to move, load or unload equipment as required
- Operates all maintenance related equipment including but not limited to Aerial lift, scissor lift, lathe, milling machine, and power tools
- May also be called upon to perform repair welding
- Actively participates in Continuous Improvement activities
- Knowledgeable of and follows safe working practices
- Maintains a safe and tidy work area
- Ensures the Standards of Section 28 of the OHSA are met
- Performs other duties as assigned

**EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
- One to two years practical experience or a minimum of five years related experience
- Able to diagnose and remedying any mechanical, pneumatic, electrical or hydraulic problems on the shift

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Required to adhere to and comply with environmental, health and safety rules/policies as related to the job function and business conduct guidelines
- Requires wearing personal protective equipment (safety footwear, hearing protection, safety glasses) in appropriate areas
