**The Opportunity**

The _Kinnikinnik Childcare Centre_ is looking for **two (2) highly motivated** **certified Infant/Toddler Early Childcare Educators** (IT/ECE) to join our dedicated team of professionals. Reporting to the Childcare Manager, this exciting opportunity provides early childhood education for children with diverse abilities through a variety of Early Learning Program experiences and activities.

**What You Do and is Expected**

Understands and adheres to the Ministry of Educations Early Learning Framework (ELF) and develops, implements, and participates with the childcare team in all learning programs including
- Leading and supporting child program play, development, and learning activities
- Preparing snacks and assisting children during snack time
- Toilet training and diapering
- Facilitates toddler transition to 3-5 program

Plan and implement an emergent curriculum in collaboration with the childcare team including
- Reports maintenance issues to the Childcare Manager and Joint Health and Safety Representative
- Documents and reports all incidents and near misses to the KCC Administrator and Childcare Manager
- Reports all worn, torn, damaged play and office equipment to the KCC Administrator

Contributes to setting up and ensuring a safe indoor/outdoor play environment and activities
- Maintains good housekeeping and sanitary conditions of the staff kitchen, classroom, outdoor play area, children’s high touch areas, toys, child washrooms, cubby area, and does laundry as required

Responsible for clear communication and accurate record keeping of children’s activities through the communication book or app and ensures confidentiality as required with staff/parents

Adheres to all licensing regulations including childcare ratio compliance, ensures children are signed in/out, and maintains accurate attendance records
- Adheres to all opening and/or closing routines as applicable

Adheres to all safety legislation and MFRC/KCC policies and procedures

Other duties as assigned

**What You Need to Succeed**
- Must Have_
- Infant/Toddler and Early Childhood Education certification from a recognized institution, Food Safe, and Childcare or Community Service Workers Emergency First Aid Certificate. One (1) year experience in a licensed daycare is considered a strong asset
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, time management, and computer (MS Word and Excel) skills
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada and successfully complete a criminal record check and/or vulnerable sector security clearance
- Nice to Have_
- A valid class 5 BC driver license

**This is a full-time, on-site, 40-hours per week, Monday - Friday position**. The total compensation package includes 12 paid sick and 13 paid statutory holiday days per year, 6% (3 weeks) annual paid vacation and 2 additional paid days over Christmas break, employee assistance program, life insurance, disability insurance, and 100% employer paid extended health and dental benefits (conditions apply).
