CLEARVIEW is currently seeking an **Intermediate IT Operations Administrator**, who will be responsible for helping to maintain all aspects of system administration within CLEARVIEW, including implementing, monitoring, securing and maintaining all hardware and software used in the business. We are a Microsoft shop, utilizing Exchange and MS SQL servers, and supporting a team of developers using.NET and a variety of tools. We are DevOps driven to an efficient, automated infrastructure and production environment. We built our own data centre and are 100% virtual with VMware, providing back-office software that supports over 10,000 clients worldwide 24/7/365. The IT Operations team is responsible for ensuring a high level of uptime in a proactive, secure, reliable and cost-effective manner.
**What will your day look like?**
- Duties and tasks include, but are not limited to:
**Industry Research and Best Practices**
- Maintaining an understanding of relevant best practices, current trends and new technology that is influencing the industry; making recommendations for how CLEARVIEW can utilize these trends to support and improve our infrastructure
- Auditing the infrastructure to ensure conventions and best practices are followed
**System Administration**
- Completing daily routines such as back-up checks, restores, log checks and alert follow-up
- Establishing new procedures, deploying new hardware or software when required
- Creating scripts to automate tasks
- Responding to end-user requests via ticket submissions in support of business operations
**Documentation and Recordkeeping**
- Collecting and maintaining audit evidence to meet SOC 1 requirements
- Writing and maintaining documentation of the infrastructure, procedures and other elements of the department
**Internal Support**
- Providing support and applicable training to end users at multiple locations
- Responding to infrastructure interruptions outside regular working hours when necessary
**Qualifications**
You should be:
- Strong in managing a Windows IT environment with 100+ devices
- Strong in PowerShell, with extensive experience automating with PowerShell
- A self-starter, well-organized, detail oriented and thorough
- Able to write and manage documentation (good written communication)
- Familiar with current IT security and general IT best practices
- Competent with:
- Azure configuration and management
- Veeam Backup Software
- HPE Servers and storage
- MS Windows 2016 and above
- MS Exchange (managing experience is an asset)
- MS SQL Server (managing experience is an asset)
- VOIP telephony (preferred but not required)
- Cisco and HPE networking equipment (preferred but not required)
- Check Point Firewall Management (preferred but not required)
And have:
- An understanding of modern system administration concepts including configuration management, change management, ITIL, CIS, SANS, ISO, and NIST
- A university or college degree in Computer Science or a related program, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 5 recent years of IT administration experience
- Experience working in a VMware environment
- A good understanding of networking concepts
- Industry standard certifications in technical/project management skills are not required but considered an asset.
This position is primarily work-from-home, however it will require regular onsite check-ins for maintenance and monitoring. **Applicants must be within a short commute of Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON**.
Additionally, on-call and after-hours onsite work, including remote management and maintenance updates plus responding to on-premise data centre issues, will be required at times.
