Equity, Indigenous Education and SATE

**Location**: Program & Learning Dept., 133 Greenbank Rd, Nepean

**Position Status**: Regular, Full-time (100%), 12 months per year

**Hours of Work**: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

**Salary Rate**: $43,749 to $55,890 (ESP, Level 6)

Under the direction of the System Principals the Secretary provides administrative support to the following departments: Equity and Inclusion, Indigenous Education, and SATE (Student Achievement Through Equity), while ensuring the efficient operation of the office. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
preparing/drafting correspondence, reports, agendas;
taking minutes at meetings as required;
maintaining calendars and calendaring system;
maintaining department budget including tracking expenditures, reconciling statements, preparing cheque requisitions and purchase orders;
working cross departmentally as required.

Community college program in Office Administration, and 2-3 years of related office experience.

Understanding of Board strategic priorities, with a focus on the Indigenous, Equity and Human Rights Roadmap.

Knowledge of relevant Board policies and procedures, and an understanding of education issues from JK to Grade 12.

Interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills; and ability to use tact, diplomacy and discretion when dealing confidential information.

Collaborate with office staff from other departments, including Program and Learning, Learning Support Services, etc.

Organization and time management skills required to prioritize work juggle multiple tasks to meet deadlines.

Initiative and judgement skills required to action matters on behalf of the Principal.

Ability to take minutes of meetings.

Ability to work independently and with mínimal supervision.

Accounting skills to maintain a departmental budget.
