Production Supervisor

The **Production Supervisor** is responsible for providing front-line supervision within a unionized manufacturing environment. The Supervisor coordinates all production activities ensuring work is carried out on time and within budget while meeting Food Safety Quality Standards. The Supervisor will ensure that work is carried out in accordance with Aspire Bakeries Health & Safety, and Environment protocols. The Supervisor will provide a communication link to management and ensures objectives are met to achieve business goals.
**Work Schedule-** 8 Hour Rotation (Bi-weekly) between days, afternoons and overnight shifts.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinating weekly activities with the Manufacturing Manager and cross-functional teams
- Monitoring of plant labour and material efficiencies and daily reporting.
- Communicate effectively with production personnel at all levels and encourages growth and improvement where required related to safety, product quality, on-time delivery, attendance, productivity and worker engagement
- Responsible for programs created to reduce waste, reduce downtime and improve productivity.
- Ensure a safe workplace by implementing systems, policies, and safety improvements, and active membership in the OH&S committee.
- Review and adjust staffing requirements to meet production schedules
- Conduct Probationary and Annual Performance Reviews along with Disciplinary Performance Discussions.
- Involvement in R&D projects and formula improvement initiatives.
- Active member of sustainability improvement and energy reduction teams.
- Responsible for the implementation and continued support of Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
- Observe and drive forward continuous improvement suggestions and ideas that will benefit the overall flow of the production floor
- Perform other duties as required

**Requirements**:

- Should have at least 2 years of supervisor or 3-5 years of Lead Hand/Team Lead experience
- Good to have a food industry background supervising unionized workers
- Experience working effectively in a continuous improvement environment with demonstrated ability to drive effective change every day.
- Organized and detail-oriented, and adaptable to change.
- Strong analytical abilities and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work rotating 8 to12-hour shifts on days, evenings, and Overnights and flexibility on alternate weekends
- Hands-on knowledge of SAP and Lean Manufacturing will be considered an asset
- Experience working and managing a decent team size in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
