**Veterinary Office Assistant**

Happy Tails Animal Hospital is a busy, small animal multiple vet practice located in the heart of Lonsdale. We provide excellent customer service and care for our clients and patients. We are seeking a Part/Full Time friendly, positive, client care-focused, reliable, and compassionate veterinary assistant to join our growing team.

Knowledge and Skills:

- Strong organization, verbal and written communication skills
- Responsible, trustworthy, and friendly
- Operate in a fast paced atmosphere
- Ability to work well in a team setting as well as individually
- Comfortable assisting and handling cats and dogs with different temperaments
- Extremely empathetic and patient with clients and their pets
- Must be highly attentive to detail
- Stay calm under pressure and during stressful cases
- Flexibility to work weekends

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Assisting Veterinarians and Technicians during appointments and procedures
- Patient intake, discharges, transactions, and scheduling appointments
- Care, accurately chart, and monitor hospitalized patients
- Creating consent forms and estimates
- Clean, prepare surgical packs and autoclave surgical instruments
- Reception and administrative tasks
- Maintain hospital cleanliness standards
- Laboratory form submissions and tasks
- Other duties as directed by the team
- Stocking pharmacy and food inventory

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $18.00-$25.00 per hour

- Day shift

COVID-19 considerations:
All clients are required to wear a facemask. No mask, no entry. Curbside pickup is available and common surfaces are sanitized regularly. One person per household is allowed into the hospital with a patient. One at a time.

**Experience**:

- Veterinary Assistant: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer Service: 2 years (preferred)
