**Job Summary**:
Under the supervision of the Sr. Project Engineer and Project Manager, the primary role of the Project Technician is to support site engineering, surveying, technical staff, QA/QC, construction and management teams in vertical development, underground construction, estimating, project controls and contracts.

**Project**:Newmont, Musselwhite
**Rotation**:14 days on, 14 days off
**Shift Length**:12 hours
**Travel**:Flight from airport closest to point of hire to Thunder Bay - Charted flight to site
**Accommodation**:Remote Camp setting

**Pre-employment requirement**:Drug test and criminal background check
- Attend coordination meetings with operations/construction, engineering and management to communicate the weekly work plan.
- Act as a liaison between management, engineering, and construction, ensuring the project is in line with the contract, schedule, and engineering specifications.
- Able to read and understand engineering prints and specifications.
- Put together construction packages for the project and communicate with construction to ensure clear understanding and execution.
- Create and update long and short-term execution schedules.
- Material requests and material takeoffs; organization from a field level.
- Develop drawings in Deswik CAD from construction drawings and prepare for survey group.
- Supervise the surveying team and assist as required.
- Assist Project Engineer as required.

**Health and Safety**:

- Follow Company and Client health and safety standards and report all unsafe acts or conditions to supervisor
- Responsible to ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment
- Work in accordance with local legislation
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Diploma in Survey, Mine or Civil Technology or equivalent (required)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure construction (required)
- Strong knowledge of survey practices within a mining/construction environment.
- Knowledge of Leica total stations with captive software.
- Strong Deswik CAD or similar CAD drafting skills.
- Experience with material coordination on an execution level.
- Experience with long/short-term scheduling.
- Attention to detail with a strong work ethic.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Comprehensive computer skills with Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience with QA/QC programs.
- Underground mining industry experience is an asset.
