**About Us**
The Bronson Music Theatre is one of Ottawa’s premier live music venues, hosting local and international artists in an energetic and welcoming environment. We are looking for reliable and professional Security Guards to join our team and help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.
This position is open to **female applicants only**, in accordance with Section 24(1)(a) of the Ontario Human Rights Code, as the role involves duties requiring same-gender personnel (e.g., searches or supervision in female-only spaces).
This is an **on-call, event-based position**. Security Guards are scheduled when shows are happening at the theatre. On average, there are about 8-10 shows per month, mostly during evenings. This position is ideal for individuals who already have a steady day job but want to make extra income in the evenings.
**Responsibilities**
- Provide a visible and professional security presence during concerts and events
- Assist with crowd management, entry control, and bag checks as required
- Ensure the safety of performers, staff, and patrons at all times
- Monitor for disturbances or potential safety issues and address them promptly
- Escort individuals off premises when necessary in a respectful manner
- Communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and emergency services if required
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining firm security standards
**Requirements**:
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License (required)
- Valid First Aid Certificate (asset)
- Valid Smart Serve (asset)
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays depending on event schedules
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Professional, calm, and respectful demeanor in high-energy environments
- Ability to stand for long periods and move through crowds as needed
- Prior experience in event or venue security is an asset, but not required
