Vice President of Investments

The Brandt Group of Companies is looking for an experienced individual to develop and manage a strategic investment plan for the entire portfolio of Brandt entities, reporting directly to Brandt’s Chief Investment Officer in the Regina Head Office.
This position will be responsible for managing and deploying capital to support Brandt’s growth through strategic acquisitions and investments in the same or adjacent industries in which we operate today, as well as passive investments where Brandt is a non-controlling or non-operating shareholder as appropriate. To support implementing these strategies and the operation of the Brandt group of companies generally, this position will also be responsible for forecasting the cash flow of the business and maximizing capital efficiency in conjunction with the finance department.
The VP of Investments will work closely with ownership and senior management in developing and executing on investment opportunities. The successful individual will be expected to succeed in a high paced environment. The VP of Investments will be responsible for managing a team of analysts.
**Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
- Identify and develop recommendations for investment
- Manage and oversee the execution of acquisitions and business startup
- Identify and assist with optimization projects to improve the financial performance of Brandt’s operating businesses, include improving capital efficiency, reducing costs, increasing margins, or bolting on complementary product/service.
- Oversee treasury functions, in coordination with the Finance Department, including cashflow modeling, funding strategies, foreign exchange transactions, and hedging strategies.
- Trading in passive investments in coordination with Ownership
