**Purpose**: The Operations Planning & Purchasing Specialist is responsible for inventory planning, purchasing, and replenishment of Duty Paid warehouses and stores in accordance with store and reorder parameters to support business needs. This role will play an integral part in transforming the current replenishment process of the Canadian Duty Paid replenishment system to a fully automated ERP driven replenishment system.
**Operations Planning & Purchasing Specialist**Functions**:
- Responsible for moving the Canadian Duty Paid replenishment process from warehouse ordering to centralized replenishment management then to Fully automated replenishment using SAP’s automated Forecasting & Replenishment (F&R) system
- Ensures data in the replenishment system is accurately maintained including on hand inventory (warehouse & stores), open orders and vendor lead time
- Responsible for ongoing review and management of supply parameters including coordination with other key areas of the business
- Provides input and validates forecasts as applicable
- Maintains relationships with commercial team, operations, vendors and others related to inventory supply and management
- Manages the planning process and ordering process, following up on purchase orders placed, order approvals and OTB
- Generates and analyses information accurately to ensure adequate in-stock levels
- Coordinates RTVs and transfers as required
- Works closely with key internal stakeholders to manage inventory levels per category including inventory quality (ABC mix), flagging and actioning low performing inventory (slow, non-movers, delisted) and versus budget
- Identifies and monitors key items and top sellers to ensure in-stock
- Works closely with country category managers to ensure assortment is accurately reflected in system
- Communicates supply issues immediately to relevant stakeholders and resolves problems
**Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment**:
- Requires 3-5 years of purchasing/merchandise/logistics planning experience
- Experience using Merchandising/ERP systems - SAP preferred
- Excellent Excel skills and proficiency in MS Office suite
- Business acumen and also has the mindset required to understand the long-term implications of planning and purchasing and to advance the organizations goals
