Assistant bakery managers are the right-hand man or woman to their bakery’s manager. They help with day-to-day operations, including managing staff and overseeing production.

Assistant bakery managers may also be responsible for marketing efforts, developing new products, creating a budget, and other tasks that support the overall success of the business.

Assistant Bakery Manager Job Duties

An assistant bakery manager typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

- Ensuring that all ingredients are stored properly to prevent spoilage
- Monitoring the quality of baked goods to ensure that they meet industry standards
- Training new employees on safety precautions and other job requirements, such as sanitation procedures, food handling regulations, and company policies
- Communicating with vendors about pricing changes or product availability issues
- Ensuring that all food products meet legal requirements for labeling, packaging, and weight
- Monitoring the inventory of ingredients and supplies to ensure that the store has enough of each item
- Overseeing the production of baked goods in accordance with recipes and specifications set by supervisors
- Reviewing employee performance to determine if they are meeting standards or if they need additional training
- Communicating with customers to answer questions about products or specials

Grocery/Bakery experience required
