We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Systems Administrator to join our team at Medavie Health Services New Brunswick. In this role, you will provide technical and on-call support for our critical operations systems, including the primary and backup Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems, related IT equipment, field operations, and desktop support.

The Systems Administrator will examine and evaluate current systems, identifying system requirements and work as a liaison among stakeholders to track additional requirements and features. The Systems Administrator is also responsible to perform standard testing and provide solutions to ensure high levels of performance and security. The System Administrator should have a positive/can-do attitude, excellent problem solving skills, works well under pressure, and is committed to continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities:

- Implement and support business solutions to meet stakeholder needs using approved technologies.
- Deliver Tier 2/3 support for operational systems, encompassing troubleshooting user issues as well as managing software configuration and upgrades.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to software, hardware, and networking systems;
- Manage commercial programs/software/hardware and customize them for internal needs;
- Prepare computers for employee distribution, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary operating system and software while adhering to security protocols.Through established procurement processes, purchase equipment and software through approved vendors;
- Participate in the after-hours IT support on-call rotation.
- Develop, revise, and manage comprehensive support documentation pertaining to various systems, issues, and solutions.

Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education in Computer Sciences or Information technology or equivalent experience;
- Three to four years’ experience in the IT industry, with a minimum of two years experience in administering Windows operating systems;
- Qualification or study towards qualification as Microsoft certified;
- A+ Certification (or equivalent on the job training experience);
- Additional training in IT and Computer Aided Dispatch systems is an asset;
- Experience with incident tracking tools like Cherwell is an asset.
- Proficient in organizing and managing distributed servers, with a comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP protocols and other LAN/WAN technologies.
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite, internet and firewall technologies, and database administration (including Microsoft SQL Server);
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with proficiency in clearly explaining procedures both in writing and verbally, as well as possessing effective telephone skills.
- Bilingualism would be considered an asset for this position.
- Travel may be required.
