Full Time (35 hours/week)

Grid 23 ($38.34-$42.15/hour)

**Opportunity**

PCRS requires a full-time Counsellor to provide in-home and group support for approximately 20 foster homes in Surrey, Delta and Langley, BC.

In addition, they will be familiar with the Ministry of Children and Families system and be experts in organizing and managing reports and communicating with other professionals. They will regularly liaise with a wide range of professionals in the child in the care system and attend case management meetings with caregivers as their support and advocate. The individual will be well organized and can work on their own.

**Primary Duties**
- Maintain reports and data collection.
- Contribute as a member of the larger PCRS team.
- Parenting skills development
- Group training
- Organize and facilitate up to five (5) groups with monthly meetings that include:
**1)** Groups for caregivers who have children that have experienced attachment disruption.

**2)** Groups for grandparents who have children who are 'Out of Care.'

**3)** Groups for the caregivers on current caseload.

**4)** Cultural competency in working with Indigenous youth and families.

Work Conditions:
The caregiver support counsellor is expected to meet this population group's unique needs and work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

- MSW, BSW, or B.A. and five years of experience, preferably work with families or the equivalent.
- Criminal Record Check including the vulnerable sector.
- Driver's license with business insurance use
- Use of own vehicle required (mileage is paid)
