Irrigation Associate Grimsby, ON | Full-time

The Irrigation Associate, under the direction of the Supervisor, Flower, is primarily responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, processing and harvesting of cannabis plants, while also providing daily support to the Irrigation department. This position will properly trim and prune the cannabis plants while adhering to strict organization policies, as well as the cleaning and sanitation of all equipment and facilities to ensure a safe and clean work environment as well as the safety and quality of our products.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Trim and prune cannabis plants for plant maintenance and cannabis production
- Transfer plants as needed throughout the growth and production process
- Detect and report all plant health and pest problems to Supervisor, Flower
- Adhere to growing schedules and report deviations from established procedures to lead grower
- Monitor moisture analyzer system, environmentals through Argus and feed batches as required through Argus
- Ensures safe handling, use, storage, and disposal of chemicals.
- Use of the Argus automated system to monitor and adjust the irrigation settings and environmental control parameters.
- Perform regular calibration of meters and scales for monitoring and measurement, with completion of accompanying paperwork.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems related to irrigation and environmental control.
- Perform regular tests of the system to ensure consistent working condition across all zones in the facility.
- Collect and analyze water, feed, and runoff samples to determine if an adjustment to the nutrient schedule is needed.
- Communicate effectively with the cultivation team and other departments to ensure a smooth production process.
- Clean and sanitize work area as required
- Assist in waste destruction according to operating procedures
- Responsible for harvesting cannabis plants
- Operating shucking and trimming equipment safely within standard operating procedures
- Monitor drying rooms, including temperature and humidity levels
- Perform data entry and complete records
- Assist in weighing and transporting cannabis throughout the production process
- Package and label processed product
- Assist other departments as required, including trim and prune cannabis plants for plant maintenance and cannabis production, transfer plants, detect, report, and control all plant health and pest problems
- Adhere to growing schedules and report deviations from established procedures to Supervisor, Flower
- Adhere to all occupational health and safety regulations
- Operates table wash machine in greenhouse to ensure that benches and trays are clean and sanitized according to our standard operating procedures
- Use approved chemicals to clean and disinfect equipment and surfaces
- Disassemble, sanitize, and reassemble equipment
- Clean and sanitize general production areas, trim room, drying rooms, shipping and receiving areas
- Work closely with QA to achieve the desired level of sanitation to prevent contamination or alteration of product, packaging material, contact and non-contact surfaces
- Accurately complete all applicable documentation such as cleaning & sanitizing records and logs
- Other duties as assigned

**ROLE REQUIREMENTS/ABILITIES**

**Experience / Education**
- High school diploma/GED
- Cannabis or greenhouse industry experience would be considered an asset
- Horticulture or Agriculture experience would be considered an asset
- Experience in Pharmaceutical, Food, Cannabis, GPP or CPG industry/ facility is considered an asset

**Skills & Abilities**
- Strong written & verbal communication skills with ability to comprehend detailed instructions
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Demonstrated time management skills
- Knowledge of cannabis plant composition is an asset
- High level of integrity and work ethic
- Must have own transportation as we are not on a public transportation route

**Working Conditions**
- Constant exposure to the smell of cannabis
- Flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Shift schedule is 4 days/ week
- Using manual dexterity repetitively
- Extended periods of stooping, bending, kneeling, standing, and walking
- Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 20 kgs
- Overtime as required
