As a world leader in the design and manufacturing industry, Active Exhaust is seeking an eager and enthusiastic **Cos**t* **Analyst* to join our successful Toronto team immediately. We are looking for a talent with solid professional skills.
**Position Overview**:
The** **Cost Analyst is mainly responsible for month-end-related tasks such as closing the books, preparation of journal entries, continuity schedules, variance analysis, and working on ad hoc projects.
This position will report to the Controller.
**What you will be doing**:

- Prepare month-end journal entries, recurring entries, and interdivisional cost allocations
- Close month-end or provide backup at month-end
- Perform Balance Sheet (BS) reconciliations including intercompany account reconciliations on a monthly basis
- Maintain Fixed Assets (FA) Continuity Schedules on a monthly basis/backup documentation
- Ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and audit trail of all sub-ledger transactions
- Provide support to AP as needed
- Perform all monthly lease accounting-related activities
- Maintain prepaid schedule and setup recurring journal entries
- Prepare audit files/schedules for external auditors
- Comply with all queries related to accounting during the on-site audit
- Support monthly and quarterly financial report analyses such as KPI and budget/actual variance
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis
- Other Administrative duties as assigned.

**What you bring along**:

- University or College education in Finance or Accounting
- At least 5 years of general accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in a manufacturing environment dealing with cost analysis and cost control
- Strong ERP knowledge with previous experience (SYSPRO and SQL are assets)
- Accounting designation (CA, CMA, or CGA) preferred
- Strong cost accounting experience, proficient at cost analysis and variance analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word is required
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and multitask
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to work under pressure
