**THE ORGANIZATION**:
Take a Hike empowers youth who experience vulnerability to change the trajectory of their lives with a full-time mental health and emotional well-being program embedded in an alternate education classroom. Take a Hike engages youth with intentional, continuous clinical counselling, experiential land-based learning, and community. - Build relationships with school district and community partners to ensure Take a Hike’s success within the community
- Support intake and facilitate youth assessments and data collection
- Contribute to organizational design and processes to ensure fidelity and alignment across programs
**KEY COMPETENCIES**:
- Collaborative team player, able to establish and maintain positive working relationships
- Comfort with attachment-based and trauma-informed therapeutic models of support
- Ability and skills to camp overnight on self-propelled outdoor experiences
- Above all, a passion for supporting vulnerable youth
**QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS**:
- Master’s in Counselling Psychology, Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy or Master’s in Social Work with a clinical focus.
- Registered member of B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors or a Certified member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association
- Minimum 20 hour remote or wilderness first aid certification
- Experience with youth and people in crisis and confident with group facilitation processes
- Knowledge of or experience with couples and family therapy
- Must be comfortable in the outdoors, able to care for self and others regardless of the weather and conditions
