The writing instructor will hold 30-minute meetings every two weeks (or weekly, where needed in individual cases) and provide personalized feedback and guidance to student posts on Quercus. Instructors are responsible for encouraging their students to keep up with the daily reading and writing routine of the program and nurturing students’ academic writing ability. Instructors will guide students in the development of academic vocabulary and academic writing style using relevant academic resources. RWE Writing Instructors may also be required to develop pedagogical materials related to critical reading, academic writing, and language development; participate in compensated professional development relevant to inter-cultural exchange; and provide feedback to the program coordinator via semi-regular meetings. Where there is a greater need to support students’ reading and writing development in the context of their courses, the RWE writing instructor’s time may be reallocated to serve this purpose. Should student uptake of the program be lower than expected, the RWE instructor may be assigned to provide regular Writing Support appointments.
