**Nasittuq provides Operation & Maintenance services for the North Warning System (NWS). The NWS is a joint Canada and United States early-warning radar system with 47 sites located in Northern Canada; a Control Centre and Support Centre located in North Bay, ON and a Contract Management Office located in Ottawa, ON.**

Work is carried out in a remote Arctic location with exposure to severe outdoor winter weather conditions.

This position is a full time, Unionized role. We are offering community-based employment, at 40 hours/per week, 5 days a week.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in basic food preparation
- Clean kitchen equipment/surroundings
- Clean food preparation and storage areas
- Maintain a tidy workspace, and ensure area is cleaned after tasks
- Communicate positively and effectively with all colleagues
- Sort, stack dishes, load/unload dishwasher, & maintain organization.
- Will assist the Chef in meal setup, breakdown, and clean up.
- Execute preparation of daily food;
- Set up and take down of fruit and salad buffet;
- Collects and washes dishes as needed
- Cleans up trash and kitchen garbage
- Cleans floors, mops and sweeps as required
- Delivers and picks up trays
- Adheres to food handling methods according to established standards of sanitation
- May need to lift and carry heavy objects, and to withstand long periods of walking, standing

**Qualifications**:

- Safe food handling training, or willing to obtain
- Some cook training is considered an asset

**Experience**:

- Previous experience in food preparation services, catering or related experience is considered an Asset
- Must be eligible for **ENHANCED RELIABILITY **security clearance, and must pass a company pre-employment medical
- Ability to work cross-culturally and a strong team player is a must; will need to roll up sleeves and pitch in as and when required
