Read/Write & Math Intervention Instructors
- Job Overview_

Unlike tutoring, Read/Write & Math Intervention Instructors are responsible for providing on going one-to-one and small group (2-3students) remedial instruction to children, youth, and adults from the general community who are missing foundational literacy skills and/or numeracy skills. Instructors deliver programs based on evidence-based literacy intervention programs and **not**related to curriculum material. Programs are delivered either online or in person.

Instructors report to the Manager of Read/Write & Math Intervention and are responsible for following the Policies & Procedures of Foothills Academy.

Instructors receive specialized training in relevant remedial instructional programs, Wilson, proprietary Read/Write programs based on Linda Mood Bell programs such as LiPS, Seeing Stars, and Visualizing and Verbalizing, and Step up to Writing ,and numeracy programs such as Jump Math, Wood in Math, and Chisanbop..

Time Commitment:
What do you get for this commitment?
- Paid training at $25/hour for 40 hours and then move to $27/hour upon successfully completion of training.
- Weekly feedback and mentoring sessions.
- Experience working with students with diagnosed learning disabilities and/or ADHD.
- A collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Designated individual office space to work with your students 1:1.
- Qualifications_
- Post-secondary education - preferably grads, or students with education,linguistics or speech/language experience,education assistant programs, OR math related fields.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Experience working with children (ages4andabove) and teens
- A desire to engage in ongoing professional learning
- Knowledge of Learning Disabilities(preferred)
- Knowledge of strategies for learning differences(preferred)
- Competence working with: G-Suite of products (googledrive,gmail, google sheets, google docs), Zoom, and comfortable learning new computer programs
- Primary Duties and Responsibilities_
- To provide positive educational experiences (in either literacy or math) to clients, as assigned by the Manager of Read/Write.
- To be open to feedback and engage in ongoing professional learning.
- To act respectfully and collaboratively in a multi disciplinary professional setting.
- To abide the expectations and regulations of Foothills Academy.
- Honor commitments to families with consistent attendance and attention to the students.**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary, Contract
