Mechanical/electrical Apprentice

**Job Summary**
Master Packaging Inc. the leader of corrugate and folding carton packaging located in Dieppe NB & Borden, PE is currently seeking a self-motivated and energetic individual to join our team as a **Maintenance Apprentice** in the Borden, PE location.

**Responsibilities**
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, apparatus and electronic components of machinery and facility equipment.
- Work closely with senior electricians & millwrights to gain knowledge and skill as needed.
- Check and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment.
- Replace faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, motors, and position sensing devices.
- Read and interpret drawings and electrical code specifications.
- Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity current, voltage and resistance.
- Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
- Use electrical PPE as required.
- Take information from pre-maintenance work orders to determine the location and the kind of work to be done.
- Read schematic drawings to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools and electrical/electronic test equipment.

**Requirements**:

- Post-Secondary Education in electro-mechanical trade is considered an asset
- Able to work 12 hour rotating shifts is mandatory
- Able to prioritize work and deal with a rapidly changing work environment
- Able to attend apprenticeship schooling - 4 times over the course of the apprenticeship -8 weeks every 8-12 months
- Timeliness & strong work ethic
- Knowledge of computer software (e.g., Outlook, Maintenance Software)
- Strong desire to learn new skills and hone existing ones
- Ability to troubleshoot and determine resolutions when encountering malfunctions in equipment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team that includes other trades people
- Communicate well with others
- Strong commitment to quality and safety
- Manufacturing industry experience

**Pay**: CA$28.21 - CA$33.20 per hour /+ $2 Night Shift / Time and a Half Sunday Premium.

**Rotation**:4 on, 4 off (8 Day Rotation)

**Shift**: 2 Day shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM) followed by 2 Night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
