We work with individuals in the city of Red Deer and area, with our office located in Red Deer. Etana continues to grow with respect to the number of individuals supported and personnel and are adaptive with our services to meet the needs of each individual.

**Direct Support Worker **is directly accountable to the Supervisor of Direct Supports to provide specialized supports and assistance to individuals person(s) who have unique, challenging support needs.

We are recruiting a Residential Support Worker to provide support for an individuals in Red Deer.

**This position requires working every other Friday and Saturday nights - 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. This is a sleep response position**

There may be some variation in this schedule required from time to time as dictated by the individuals requirements.

You will confidently provide direct individualized support to adults with developmental disabilities will complete your duties ensuring that services provided are of the maximum possible benefit to the personal growth, independence and increased social inclusion of individual(s). You will also ensure that services are operated in accordance with standards as set out by Etana, Disability Services and C.A.R.F Accreditation Standards.

**MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS**
- One year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Clear vulnerable sector police check.
- Minimum Emegency Level First Aid /CPR certification
- Class 5 drivers license and reliable vehicle

**REQUIRED TRAINING**_(_some of this training is available through Etana)
- Medication Administration
- Trauma Informed Care
- Harm reduction
- Abuse Protocol / Protection of Persons in Care Act
- Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments (SIVA) every 2 years
- Leadership & Advisory Council - Rights, Roles & Responsibilities
- Food Safe
- Maintain skills in computing and communication technology as chosen and utilized by Etana
- Training in support approaches for individuals with FASD is an asset

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $15.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift
- Night shift
