Special Education Technician - Early Action

STATUS : Occasional part-time position (35h / week)
IMMEDATE SUPERVISOR : Homecare head program
STARTING DATE : As soon as possible

DESCRIPTION:
FUNCTIONS:
Collaborate in the assessment of all of the child's needs;
Designs the interventions following assessments;
Identify the most relevant interventions to to manage and supervise the child's behaviors according to his capacities;
Organize and lead stimulation activities according to the child's needs;
Evaluates, creates and applies programs, schedules and behavioral support plans according to the specific needs of the child;
Coordinate interventions with partners and provide the necessary support and training;
Participate in the revision of intervention plans and programs in collaboration with the other members of the team.

**Qualifications**
Must have a college diploma (DEC) in special education techniques
Minimum of two years of experience with children 0 - 6 years old with neurodevelopmental disorders;
Knowledge of neurodevelopmental disorders;
French and English bilingualism required both oral and written, knowledge of Inuktitut will be an asset;
Experience in remote areas will be an asset;
Knowledge of Inuit culture and values will be an asset;
Ability to work in concert with the various stakeholders in the community;
Ability to teach and provide training to local stakeholders;
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team;
Good adaptability
Good ability to work on the establishment of a new program
Available to travel to the communities of the Ungava Coast;
Must have a valid driver's license.

**Conditions and benefits**
SALARY : Min : $867.30 Max : $1 248.45 /week
ISOLATION PREMIUM : $203.66 / week, as per the family status
HIGH LIVING COST : $61.16 / week, or as per the family status
RETENTION PREMIUM : $114.99 / week or as per the number of years of service

Any person recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she is called upon to perform her duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per status (shared lodging if necessary).
