Reporting to Director, Infrastructure Planning and Projects, you will play a pivotal role in leading and supervising the planning, design, and delivery of Capital Projects at NAIT and delivery of key strategic capital projects.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the entire lifecycle of capital projects from initiation to completion.
- Identify and mitigate risks through assessments, contingency plans, and strategies.
- Lead and manage a team of project managers, including providing guidance, fostering a collaborative environment, performance evaluation, goal setting, mentoring, and disciplinary actions.
- Oversee financial aspects of projects, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Commit to continuous improvement and innovation, implementing industry best practices and new technologies.
- Support the development and maintenance of NAIT’s facility project management framework.
- Monitor and report on project performance, tracking key indicators and preparing progress reports.
- Develop and implement unit processes to ensure successful project delivery.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders and partners.
- Draft and issue project documentation, ensuring proper initiation, authorization, and maintenance.
- Keep stakeholders informed on project status and issues impacting delivery.
- Perform change control, schedule control, cost management, quality assurance, and project support services.
- Actively track project status to ensure compliance with schedule, budget, scope, and quality.
- Coordinate project activities to minimize disruption to campus operations.
- Assemble and comply with NAIT's Project Delivery Process documentation.
- Ensure compliance with NAIT standards, policies, and applicable legislation.
- Track progress and quality of work by design disciplines, contractors, and service providers.
- Use scheduling and control tools to monitor project plans, deliverables, schedules, budgets, and expenditures.
- Resolve issues that jeopardize performance or deliverables; analyze financial and operational reports.
- Ensure project close activities and sign-offs are completed on time.
- Review and authorize payments and forecasts.
- Handle sensitive and confidential information, coordinating project tasks for efficient completion.
- Communicate relevant project information to sponsors, stakeholders, and leadership.
- Work with Supply Chain Management to procure necessary services, adhering to procurement policies.
- Collaborate with NAIT stakeholders and external parties to plan, execute, and monitor project deliverables.
- Participate in training and professional development.
- Perform other related duties as needed.

- Extensive full-cycle project management experience, including governance, controls, scheduling, commissioning, and contract management.
- Proficiency in strategic planning, project cost management, scope management, and the use of computerized project management systems (e.g. SharePoint, Microsoft Project, Excel).
- Strong analytical, planning, organizational, and multitasking skills for managing multiple projects and making data-driven decisions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents and current building practices, including architectural, mechanical, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and HVAC disciplines.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment, maintaining good judgment under pressure, and managing competing priorities and unforeseen challenges.

**Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated experience with both small and large capital projects including impactful infrastructure initiatives in the public sector (post-secondary, municipal, provincial, or federal).
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in the area(s) of engineering, architecture, project management, and/or environmental design. Alternatively, in lieu of degree or diploma, a combination of progressive 5+ years experience coordinating construction projects in conjunction with project management formalized training will be considered.
- P.M.P. certification is considered an asset.
