**Reporting To**:Learning Manager
**Purpose**: To build and scale a nature education initiative across BC
**Overview**:
The BC Parks Foundation’s goal is to create the greatest system of parks and protected areas on earth. It has launched a 25x25 expedition with four objectives, including protecting 25% of land and waters, safeguarding biodiversity through 25 million observations of nature, helping people enjoy 25 safe and responsible park activities, and improving human health through British Columbians spending a minimum of 2.5 hours a week in nature.
The Foundation measures its success by meeting these mission targets, and by the number of supporters and resources (funds, volunteer hours, in-kind, etc.) generated for its mission. A key element of achieving its goals, objectives, and metrics is to make it possible for all British Columbians, especially equity deserving people, to experience time in parks, increasing their enjoyment, learning, health, and stewardship of nature. The Foundation makes it easy for all British Columbians to get outside, by providing resources and guides.
**Role Summary**:
We are searching for a Project Manager for our Nature Education Program.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Work with the Learning Manager, with input from the VP, Programs and VP, Strategic Partnerships to establish a program charter and plan. This will clearly define the project objectives, team structure and skill-sets, scope of deliverables, timeline and budget for the initial deployment of program.
- You will project manage the initial roll-out of the Nature Education program. You will be a key driver of progress, coordinating the execution of detailed tasks, and monitoring and reporting project status with respect to scope, schedule and budget, including risks and associated mitigations for each of those areas.
- You will establish and maintain relationships with internal resources and relevant partners, coordinating their participation in the project.
- This program will have continuous evolution with additional features being added and wider deployment. You will have the ongoing responsibility for working with the Program leaders to develop the project plans and project manage the implementation of these expansions.
- Overall, you will be a key change agent in ensuring that the Nature Education program is effectively implemented throughout its life cycle
**Requirements**:
- Post-secondary education (preferably in the field of Education, Curriculum, Learning).
- Four or more years of project management experience, preferably in the field of Education
- Strong attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines
- Proven success working with all levels of management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Experience in coaching project team members to strengthen their abilities and skill sets
- Collaborative spirit
**Skills and experience considered an asset**:
- Those identifying as being part of groups which are underrepresented or have additional barriers to the labour market are encouraged to apply.
- Fluency in a second language
**Work Environment**:
- This is a full-time position (40 hrs/week, Monday to Friday)
- The position will work a hybrid schedule of in person (2-3 days in the office) and work from home
