**Part-time ECE Family Programs Facilitator Job Posting
**South Vancouver Neighbourhood House, a non-profit social service organization, is looking for a skilled,
motivated, and experienced Early Childhood Educator to provide a safe, enriching, and developmentally
appropriate program for young children and their caregivers for family resource programming. Offering family
resource program (family drop-in) on Saturdays.

**Responsibilities**

Plan appropriate activities that are inclusive, developmentally appropriate, and suitable for young
children and their caregivers

Facilitate parenting education programming
Create a welcoming and inclusive environment
Set up and take down equipment and other items used in the program
Maintain records, including a daily log and stats and submit reports and stats
Inspect program space for safety issues and seek corrective action according to procedures
Work with team members to create a positive environment and programming
Liaise with partner agencies to facilitate guest speakers, workshops
Implement program evaluation
Lead participants in storytelling, music, crafts, and theme-based activities
Ensure health and safety of all participants
Assist in providing parents and caregivers with information and referrals to services and programs in

the neighbourhood, including South Vancouver Early Years’ programs and services

**Qualifications**
Early Childhood Education certification, License to Practice, & valid First Aid training
Experience facilitating a family drop-in program
Training in parent education programs an asset (i.e., Nobody’s Perfect, Mother Goose)
Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as multi-cultural awareness
Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse staff, volunteers, and other members of the ECE

community
Demonstration of on-going professional development in the field
1-year minimum experience in ECE
Second language an asset
Ability to problem solve

Good conflict resolution skills
Some knowledge of South Vancouver community resources
Valid driver’s license
Successful criminal record search required

**Hours**:

- Schedule: Saturdays for program, 10 hours per week
- Wage: $20.11/hour (C2-1)
