Plant Operator

**Reporting to Foreman, Asphalt Plant Operator is responsible for supervising daily activities in an asphalt production plant.**
Responsibilities and duties vary and usually include:
monitoring machinery, maintaining, and repairing equipment, loading materials into trucks, and enforcing safety rules.
**Position Responsibilities**:
- Running the Peace River & Slave Lake Plants
- Monitor material quality and inspect materials & Overseeing crushing Quality Control for asphalt aggregate.
- Direct and/or perform maintenance & repairs on equipment.
- Calibrate plant for maximum efficiencies. Be responsible for troubleshooting to determine downtime and eliminate or minimize causes in future by implementing preventive maintenance procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on plant and/or equipment.
- Safely load asphalt into delivery trucks for transportation to the road construction sites.
- Communicate with customers regarding orders and details of delivery
**Working Environment/Conditions**:
- Shift Work & Overtime as required.
- Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 20LBS on a regular basis.
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Class 5 Driver's License with clean driver's abstract.
- Strong mechanical skills.
- Basic electrical knowledge.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an asphalt plant.
- Physical capability to repetitively lift and carry at least 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.

**Salary**: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
