**Olds Softgels Ltd.** is a fast-paced, international manufacturer of pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and cannabis products. We currently have an opening for a full time, career-oriented individual to serve as a Quality Control Manager at our facility in Olds, Alberta.

**Specific Job Duties**:

- Supervise daily operations of the QC laboratory, ensuring adherence to GMP, GLP, and company SOPs.
- Oversee the qualification, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Ensure laboratory environment meets all regulatory and safety requirements.
- Manage and schedule testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using validated analytical methods.
- Review and approve test results, Certificates of Analysis (CoAs), and laboratory documentation.
- Coordinate timely release of materials and products in alignment with QA and production schedules.
- Oversee the development, validation, and transfer of analytical methods for new and existing products.
- Generate and review method validation protocols and reports.
- Lead laboratory investigations for out-of-specification (OOS) results, deviations, and non-conformances.
- Collaborate with QA on root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Ensure all QC documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with data integrity principles.
- Maintain records for traceability, trending, and audit readiness.
- Train and mentor QC analysts and technicians on analytical techniques, GMP requirements, and safety practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare for and participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits (e.g., Health Canada, FDA, NSF).
- Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as required.
- Work closely with QA, Production, Regulatory Affairs, and R&D to support product development, process improvements, and regulatory submissions.
- Provide technical support and guidance on quality control issues. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance laboratory efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes, updating procedures as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Job Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific field.
- Adept at problem solving, project management and strong communication skills with an excellent attention to detail.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a QC or analytical laboratory role within the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or cannabis industry.
- Proficient in analytical techniques; HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV, KARL FISHER, microbiological assays, etc.
- Strong understanding of method validation, equipment qualification, and data integrity principles.
- Familiarity with Health Canada and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of Cannabis Act and its Regulations.
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team.
- Ability to manage workflow pressures and competing priorities
